Well yes, I was a lucky man. I won a pair of tickets in the ballot again. But what a pair of tickets this time!!
First, it’s Brighton – a very good premier league team, coming to London, but then the seats on the lower wing area 17 – exactly in the middle of the lower ring, just by the middle line of the pitch… could not be any better. What I am saying is, if you can choose any two seats in the Emirates Stadium, I am choosing the two I have won.
Only the timing wasn’t ideal for Miska, so in return I asked Tomas, if he would join me. He did so and on Wednesday, 29th of October we landed in Luton. Checked in to Holiday Inn and hit the train to London, St. Pancras.
As Tomas had not visited London before, I took him to some of the landmarks. Firstly to greet the royal family in the Buckingham, then to the Big Ben, Parliament square and Westminster Abbey. Afterwards we got a pint of Guinness on the river Thames overlooking the London Eye.
Ready for the match we then took tube to Emirates Stadium. It was more than an hour before the kick off, but the atmosphere was already massive.
Inside of the stadium, we got another Guinness, just to be on time to sing North London Forever.
The match was great. In the first half, mainly our youngsters tried to earn their places in A team squad. In the second half we substituted some of them. On came Saka, Trossard and Rice.
Our first goal scored Nwaneri, the second Bukayo. Final result ARS 2: 0 BRI
What a spectacular football evening this was!
